Just how accurate is right triangle trigonometry?
Introductionby Miss Noonan, Northgate High School
Modified by Genna Sengstacke, Meadowcreek High School After this WebQuest, students will have: *Used right triangle trig to solve for missing values. *Researched the meaning of "accurate". *Researched the actual answers for the problems they solved. *Considered how to influence accuracy. Everything in math gives you exact answers, right? Or is that right? For the last few class periods, you have been learning about something called right triangle trigonometry. Over the next few days you will explore some of the most famous sights in the world using the 3 primary trigonometry functions: sine (sin), cosine (cos) and tangent (tan). Once your whirl-wind vacation is over, you will be evaluating how accurate your calculations are. When you are finished, you will be able to decide how "exact" answers come about. When you are ready to begin, click on the link that says "Task". |
